Following on from last weeks 8 stretches for cyclists, here are 5 exercises from British Cycling’s Physio Phil Burt to work on your Functional Trunk Strength – ideal for those starting from scratch or looking to build up their saddle time on the bike.


“Functional trunk strength and co-ordination is what is needed to be able to pedal strongly, perform on the bike tasks such as putting on a rain cape and, in the case of track sprinters, lift heavy weights in the gym.
