Step out of your comfort zone

Stepping out of your comfort zone and doing hard things challenges our mindset, fears, doubts and more…yet committing, with patience and trust, things unfold.

100 miles in 40hrs for 4 Charities, finishing just before midnight on the Sunday, turns out Rat Race Castle to Castle 100miles is a wee bit of a challenge…I reset time and time again during the 100 miles, and somehow with the amazing support of so many, made it to the finish line.

I can honestly say I used every tool I teach to reset time and time again…And somehow made it to the finish line, 3 months post surgery, and we’ve raised so much for Emma and early onset Parkinson’s UK, Louisa recovering from a coma and Macmillan Cancer Support & Raleigh International: South Africa – thank YOU. So much.

But the best bit… the people along the way. Anything in life we need support, even if it feels hard to ask. I cannot thank you enough for the messages, donations and those who showed up on route, the volunteers, crew and fellow racers.

The cabbage field at 1am was ninja and destroyed my ankle with 55 miles to go… I ate more skittles and chips than you can imagine! My school friend Hazel jumped on a train to walk, Simon made it after breaking his pelvis, Susan smashed it for Strathcarron Hospice. Kevin & my Mum were the best support, Jen gave me antihistamines, my brother Fred and family let me stay, the stranger I hugged when my water bottle burst, the volunteers I cried and laughed with, Henry the 11yr old, @r_wat and James my inspirations, Adam and Jordon who did the last 9 miles with me…We made it…

To Emma and Louisa…this is for you. Your strength, resilience, humour and courage is beyond words.

I took copies of my wee book, 52 Ways to Feel Good: The Hound of Happiness in each drop bag and gave them out randomly which was the best. Somewhere I lost my big woolly hat which has been like a talisman or amusement to many.

Do you know what though, the most important thing in life is love. Giving and receiving love, knowing you are loved even when you doubt it. A quick call, message, a hug, time. With everyone I spoke to… it always came back to time and love.

So this Autumn, lead with love…Find your joys, follow your passions, take risks – step out of the comfort zone, take time to pause, ask for help, be kind to others & yourself. For all we have is now, and now is your time.

I’m here to help you, no idea or hope is too small, or silly, too big or crazy. Everything is valid and you matter, the simple life or the wild dream.

Ask me anything, share your intentions for the Autumn & let’s go all in,
Big energised love & support, Coach Kim
