Pretty Muddy to Great Weston Ride

It’s been a while since I’ve written a personal blog, though having taken over as the Energised PA I have been posting lots of bits and pieces for Kim.

July is quite a busy old month for me, I took part in Pretty Muddy on the 5th along with Team EP’s Tina, Marie & Deborah and two of my colleagues from the Walton Park Hotel, Lou & Ness.Me & MArie PM

Running at a consistent speed for any length of time is really hard for me mentally as well as physically, I’m more used to interval running having played sport like hockey and basketball. So Pretty Muddy was ideal for me, 5km broken down by 9 obstacles. I really enjoyed it and will definitely take part next year with a view to trying something like Tough Mudder. So, my personal goal is to be running intervals of 3-4km at a time, then at least in my head it’s not jogging 🙂

Over the last month I’ve been organising a Sports Massage Team for the Great Weston Ride on Sunday. Myself and a few others worked it last year and it was a really good day, the 800 odd cyclists had good weather and my team raised £126 extra for Prostate Cancer UK from donations for post event treatment. This year the organiser Darren has 1000 cyclists signed up including Team EP’s lovely Jan, training for September’s LEJOG. And it’s all looking good!(c) David Granero Dundry Drubber 2013
