What a week in Buda at the World Triathlon Championships ….. brilliant!
Firstly…A few personal mentions for my Energised athletes who I am SO proud, happy and excited for including Sam Hayward with a 17min PB (!!), Ivan Newman with a PB, Mark Hirsh, Lisa Roberts (GOLD Sprint), Jane (Silver Sprint), Ian (GOLD Para), Mike, Dean, Geoff, Claire, Kate and above all, with the biggest well done – Sophie Whitworth who is now World, European and National Champion!! She is a super star and it is the biggest pleasure working with her 🙂
I headed out to work as one of the four sports therapist, with Kevin, Aurelie and Becky we were responsible for over 500 age group athletes racing for Team GB – quite a responsibility!
Over the 4 days we massaged over 200 athletes, one day totally 35 treatments … some were just pre race quick treatments, others involved injury rehab, taping, strapping and confidence building…!
I also gave Mental Strength sessions (winter series of workshops coming soon) using NLP, Hypnotherapy and sports psychology to enhance the athletes mental focus, strength, confidence and performance on the day. This is proving to be more, and more successful and in demand which is really exciting.
So when race day began we were inspired by our range of athletes from a 79 year old age grouper to a para- athlete, from a 4 times medalist to a junior … all with such different stories but one common aim – to do the very best they could do on the day!
A wow did they do that….. so many amazing successes too many to mention, but a BIG big well done to everyone that achieved their personal bests and medalled, including the Elites and another awesome win from Alistair & Jonathon Brownlee – amazing!
Until next year…. where China & Spain is calling!
