This week’s Sunday Success is Carrie Sanderson who receives a £7 thank you voucher to use on our services this week.
A familiar name to those from the Make Your Life Brilliant Facebook Forum, Carrie has been making great changes in her life the last couple of years to get where she wants to be ……
“When I first started Make Your Life Brilliant 2013 back in December 2012 I was feeling stuck. My life was nowhere near how I’d imagined or dreamed it to be. I felt drained, lethargic and un-inspired. You could say I was in a bit of a dark hole. Make Your Life Brilliant therefore came at just the right time for me. Weekly emails, exercises and support – from Kim as well as the Facebook forum – put me on a path that has turned my life around. I climbed out of the hole.
The second time I did the course – January this year – was great in that I was able to reflect back to the year before and see how much progress I’d made. It also helped me to identify what I needed next to make my dreams a reality. It was a big celebration to see how far I’d come – we often forget to look back and see what we’ve done and celebrate our progress! Both times the courses were gentle nudges in getting me moving and taking small consistent steps to making my dreams happen, which I had to discover first. The course helped in shaping my vision and goals. I got clear on what I needed to do next for various areas in my life, including career/work, health/well-being, and living space.
The last couple of years have been a journey of remembering who I am, what I want and what I love – living from my heart instead of my head. The quote that inspired me to delve deeply into this journey – and which will continue to inspire me for the rest of my life – is one by Rumi:
“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strange pull of what it is you really love.”
It required faith, courage, determination and letting go of what other people (might) think. It called for self-care and self-love first – I am now a big believer in feeling good first, looking after yourself as a number one priority before doing anything else.
One of my biggest successes over the past couple of years has been in terms of sorting out my health, well-being and fitness: I am feeling better than ever and I am able to train at the gym again, go running and do my favourite sports without feeling drained and exhausted. I’ve regained my energy levels.
Secondly, I took steps to making a career change – finally admitting that all I have ever wanted was to be an artist, and as a result I have set up my artist/creative business.
Last, but by no means least, I discovered where I wanted to live – I’d been dreaming about Scotland for a while and I went on a couple of road trips/adventures/explorations to find out where I wanted to be. And then finally I moved to Edinburgh in September 2014, and it has been the best decision ever!
Kim has kindly encouraged me to share with you my new business and I’d like to tell you about my free gift for you if you go to my blog post “Exclusive Gift For You” or if you click here. You will be able to download my gift and be subscribed to my newsletter where I regularly share my creativity tips, latest artwork, sneak previews, and other interesting info that will help you to remember your creative voice.
You can also find me in various other hang-outs on the Internet: please say hi and like my page on Facebook, follow me on Twitter, and on Instagram. And be sure to check out my blog where I share not only my work, but my journey to inspire others to follow their hearts and what they love, so they can create more joyful and fulfilling lives.”
