WELL DONE to all our clients who ran the marathon this weekend…
We had many Energised Clients running the London Marathon and we are pleased to say that they all managed to complete it – which is a fantastic, amazing achievement and they should be very proud and pleased with themselves – WELL DONE EVERYONE!. It was such an unusually hot day, with the only blessing being the warning of two weeks of warm weather in the run up to the race…although I am sure that did not really prepare people for the temperatures of 25 degrees!
I watched the Elite runners complete the race in under 2hrs 15mins, with two GB women and one GB man getting in the top 10. This was followed by the wheelchair race which saw a British win in the men and women – fantastic for UK Sport.
From the Energised Clients – there were many reasons for running the race, lots of money rasied for charity and lots of miles run in training. For many of you it was a first time, even more of an acheivement! Polly Newbery managed to run 3hrs 36mins for her first marathon – watch this space as she heads to try out her first triathlon in June! And there were many other successes includuing Joss Palmer, Sandi Sforza and Chris Turley (in the photo – sponsor her African Children in Crisis at http://www.justgiving.com/turleysbigjog). Drink, eat and relax plenty for at least a couple of weeks – you deserve it!.
So having read this, and maybe watched the marathon perhaps you feel like you would like to run a race? Take action now and go for it – we will support you all the way, give you lots of training advice and massages! Energised will be running beginners running workshops in the Autumn and New Year for those who would like to run anything over 10km.
We will be taking a team to the Amsterdam Full & Half Marathon on 21st October 2007 as well as the London Marathon 2008. We will be running many other races – keep a look out for the calender on our website later in the summer. If you are interested in more information please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
