Undeniably this is the case sometimes and that can’t always be helped, but sometimes it could be because maybe you haven’t always taken care of your body and some rehab/treatment would help get rid of any niggles or biomechanical issues that are preventing you from training as you would like.
Perhaps things aren’t working in the correct way and you need a little guidance with technique or to get your muscles firing in the correct way (see previous blogs on VMO and glute activation!)
Muscle weakness can often lead to joint problems as you may be overcompensating in certain areas to make up for these weaknesses. Particularly when it comes to lower back pain your core and glutes need to be strong to provide adequate support to your pelvis and lumbar spine.
Whatever it may be, it doesn’t mean that you can’t carry on training or playing a sport you enjoy. But maybe you need a little bit of help getting to the bottom of what is causing you pain or discomfort and limiting you.”
