A common question I’m asked is ‘how can I get fit? Here’s a little ramble of thoughts from 20yrs+ of coaching people, mind, body & adventuring soul. I hope it helps
✨ What does fit actually mean to YOU? For your life now – hours you want to train, type of exercise, how you want to feel, why does this matter?
✨ Remember, this will change – life events, age, hormones, stress, health, priorities. What you loved once / worked for you may change, this might be challenging yet finding what works & being flexible is the key
✨ Try different things, walk, run, cycle, dance, lift weights, explore, yoga, team sports, fast/slow, circus skills, outdoors/ indoors… don’t be afraid to be a beginner, to ask for help, be brave… adapting and preparing for winter is key I believe
✨ Being fit for me is multi layered – firstly its about mental & physical health, managing any conditions, adapting to age without fear & movement for wellness.
✨ It’s about what surrounds ‘fit’, so our thoughts, habits, posture, body respect breathing, fun, relationships, food, love. This is 100% different for us all. Then perhaps leads us, to a specific goal which requires a priority commitment – like a wild adventure, running a marathon, becoming stronger, moving freely, learning yoga flows, so many options
✨ ’Fit’ for me is the courage to commit when you know it matters to you, the courage to pause when other things take priority. To be flexible with yourself, to give yourself permission to have fun whilst doing your thing – be that serious competition or dancing in your living room. .
✨ Fit is finding your motivation, your why, your peace of mind & getting a support team around you – friends, coach, team, community
✨ What is fitness for you this autumn, do share & any people you love, circle of support,
