Italia 2008….The Best Fitness Energy Camp Yet!

Photos coming soon to inspire you from this trip!

Well – what a week we have had in Lucca, Italy!  It really was amazing – the weather could not have been better, the location as always is breathtaking, my ‘Team Energised’ were brilliant and the guests fantastic! Many expressives I know but they are justified believe me…

I set off on Saturday morning, with Flexi bar’s, two large bags, laptop, euro’s and directions to Il Borghino….several entertaining conversations later, two large supermarket trolley’s and a few wrong turns and I made it! It is hard to express the beauty of Il Borghino and the warmth of the family who own it, yet they have thought of everything and it truly is a very special place.

So once I had put all the food away, the rest of my team arrived: Tess & Jenny the wonderful Chefs, back by popular demand, Graham my right hand man and fitness trainer and Veronica – all things to do with massage, reflexology and indian head massage…closely followed by all our guests.

Once settled the week began with a variety of things including early morning runs, hills sprints, core sessions, Flexi Bar, boxing and body strength classes…..I think Dympna wins the longest hold for the Plank, Lorraine wins the hardest punch and Debbie the most improvement in running…..that said, everyone in the group really made a huge effort and achieved so much!

Aside from all the exercise and hard work there were many things to enjoy, including eddie the Pizza man, Tom’s quiz night, the Turkish baths, NLP coaching, sports massage, foot spa’s, reflexology and much more!

We also two lovely afternoon trips – one to Lucca where we all cycled around the walled city, and one to Pisa where we climbed up the leaning tower – or some of us did, whilst the others ‘rested’ in a local cafe nearby!  We were taken to these trips by the wonderfully entertaining taxi driver who resembles the terminator but is actually known as Giovanni…!

We also had the pleasure of a Cha Cha lesson from Sharon and a ‘Shaking’ lesson from Tess – added extras that went down a treat……

The food all week was a highlight and there has been much chat about a Nutrition and recipe book – which Jenny and I will keep you posted about…..probably available in time for Christmas we think!

So all in all it was a wonderful week and I truly grateful to my amazing team for all their hard work, and to all the guests for making it such a fantastic time.  You should all be very proud of yourselves…..stay energised!

If you are interested in being part of the Italian Energy Camp 2009 please send an email to and we will keep you informed – we are looking at taking Il Borghino for two weeks……with the option of coming for one or two weeks and possible running the Pisa 10km or Half marathon in the middle…..3rd 9th & 10th – 16th May 2009…..
