Ultra X Jordan 2025 with the Wyld Therapy Team

Energised Sports Therapist Gail headed out to the Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan with the Wyld Therapy Team to support the Ultra X Jordan Marathon Runners.

“I’ve always enjoyed working at events, to be a small part of someone’s journey in achieving a goal is the best feeling and to be there throughout a 5 day endurance event more so.

Our job in Jordan was simple, do our best to help as many people as possible finish their Ultra X marathon journey. Injury and illness happens but if you can get them as far along that road as possible then hopefully they feel like they gave it their all.

A proud member of the Check Point 3 team, we cheered and clapped, offered welcoming smiles, played music loudly, provided fresh water, medical help, soft tissue work, taping and strapping, a shoulder to cry on, a few positive words to get up and try to get to the next check point – you’ve got this. And they did, some finished the journey early, some had a pause and rejoined but they were all beautiful efforts.

The Wadi Rum is an entity all of it’s own, unforgiving but stunning, I fully appreciated my 6 days camping out in the desert landscape. The lack of phone signal gave me a much needed digital detox and while the work wasn’t easy I came back feeling rested – something for me to add into my work/life balance more regularly.
