Strictly Energised Factor – The Challenge to You – We Dare You!

Over the years Energised Performance have been involved with Strictly Come Dancing, and massaged on the Professional Tour so we thought it only appropriate to post a Blog about the latest series and our ‘friends’!

Read this Blog as it could make things happen for you by Christmas if you take up the challenge…… if you post weekly updates we will support & advice each week – our commitment to you!

What a brilliant start to the new series, with a great range of dancers, and interesting celebrities – I think this year is going to be a really interesting, exciting series. We would like to wish an extra BIG Energised Good Luck to Natalie Lowe & Scott Maslan (plus Orla, James, Erin & their professional partners)  and we are watching with Energised interest the physcial and mental strength from Aliona Vilani & Matt Baker (you can follow all the Dancers on Twitter for live personal updates). To find out more about  the dancers & Strictly Come Dancing visit: http://www.bbc.co.uk/strictlycomedancing/2010/dancers/

Strictly is great to watch, and observe from a Mental Strength & Performance angle – how do the dancers and celebs cope with the pressure, where is there focus, what is their outcome, do they have confidence, self belief and can they ‘just be in the moment’ – where nothing else matters so they can give their very best performance on the night…?  These are questions that I ask all athletes when we are working together to help them gain the edge, let go of any limiting fears, really understand what they will gain from achieving the outcome they set – and how they can have the courage to just go for it….

So when Matt Baker (http://www.mattbaker.info/) appeared on the stage you could tell he was just in the moment, nothing else mattered and he gave a performance that represented this. So you could argue he has gymnastics training, you could argue he could is used to doing these things from Blue Peter challenges etc – or you could observe with interest what is possible, if you let yourself be in the moment, and allow yourself to believe in You. Everyone has different skills, so whilst you may not be the best dancer – I am sure that if you find something that excites you, that you feel passionate about and it motivates you – that if you fully commit to making it happen – you can achieve more than you thought was possible…

So my challenge for you – to run with Strictly Come Dancing (or the X Factor –http://xfactor.itv.com/2010/ if that works for you better!) is to set a ‘BIG Hairy Goal that Excites you for the Final Night – so the last weekend before Chrstmas.. thats just under 12 weeks time…

I would like you to write down this BIG SCARY GOAL and make it REAL by setting yourself little goals each week to make it become possible….. then each Saturday night you have to tick that goal off your list…. just like each couple has to learn a new dance, or each contestant learns a new song….

Make the little goals really specific and accountable, plan them, and write them down for each week – from now until Christmas... – so that you know you have achieved it, and made a difference to achieving the BIG goal…. The Big Goal doesn’t need to be big to the outside world, it just needs to matter to you, and matter enough that you will commit to making it happen…

I really, really encourage you, and dare you all to do this…… who knows what you could achieve. You could do it with your friends and each weekend share what you have achieved…. imgine putting yourself out of your comfort zone – just like the people on Strictly Come Dancing & the X Factor are… and see what could happen…

If you challenge is really clear, and the small goals specific and realistic to achieve you may just find yourself being chosen by our Head Coach Kim for weekly support and top tips – specifically for you. Making it really happen… so get sharing …..
