Great Team Energised, Racing & Spirit…Well Done Team!

What a wonderful Bank Holiday Sunday with the GREAT Team Energised, racing at Malmesbury Triathlon in Wiltshire.  This year we took a couple of Relay Teams, and several individuals, plus a wonderful support crew and event massage.   Being many of their first races, the Energised Athletes all did super well.

Starting first & strongly was Dee O’Brien in the Swim leg of the relay, giving her team a great start, (good technique Dee!) with Rachel giving a strong bike leg on her mountain bike, (who I met year’s ago whilst training her to trek to the North Pole for Breast Cancer!) and Emma finishing with a storming run up the hill.  Following them were individuals Lindsay (fresh from a flight back from India), Kate Watson (looking extremely fit in her new Craft Tri Suit) and Della Hudson (who came to the TriGirl Women’s Beginners Workshop) who all gave huge effort and great results.  Next up was Tim Pocock (fine tuning before a Middle Distance in a couple of weeks, good work Tim) with a head to head in the next wave with Lorraine Welsh (getting faster and faster!) and Dave Baber in the pool.  All three finished with PB’s in sections of the triathlon, and looked exceptionally strong, good work team!  Finishing the day was the other relay Team, starting with a fish like swim from Rich Morris, a speedy bike from first timer (& new Energised member) Deborah and a quick run from Suzanne (despite having a few days off to illness).

Combined with the great athletes, we had a strong support crew of Debbie Pocock (Team Pocock all the way!), Debbie Baber (& their foreign students!), Ross (Head of Energised Operations!) & Ruth Moore (who is about to achieve an amazing goal with the PhD Femme challenge and then will be back, faster & stronger I am sure!).

And we even had one of our wonderful Sports Therapists, Gail on hand to offer all the athletes a post event sports massage, which many took advantage of.

So all in all, a wonderful Team Energised Day out!  I am really proud of the Team Spirit, Support and Friendship the Energised Crew offer and give each other. You really are a wonderful group of people I am proud to work with, and proud of all your achievements, really well done!

Thank you to James Higgs and the DB Max/Activa Leisure Team for a really well organised, fun, professional and friendly event.
