Free Your Mind, Live in the Moment & Create a 4 Year Master Plan!

It’s only 6 week’s until Christmas, how crazy is that!  I can’t believe that it is nearly 2013.. I’m quite excited by this blog & hope you take action.

So two things got me thinking about this mini blog, the American Presidential Elections and a GB Olympic athlete I work with.  Both have created 4 year Master Plans, both with the vision of creating their very best 4 years, and achieving several outcome’s along the way.  At Energised we really promote positive, realistic thinking, clear plans and action.

So before the Christmas Rush begin’s, take a moment and clarify this:

1. What have you gained from the last year, what did you learn and what did you say you would do, but have not?  Does this matter?

2. If you had to write a 4 year plan, until November 2016 (when you would be how old), what would you include in it, what would you want to have achieved and how would it make you feel if you made it happen?

3. Do you have any fears or ‘reason’s/excuses’ why you could not make it happen? Write them down, and then write down how you are going to overcome them so they don’t limit you

4. Break your plan into a mini timeline for each season from now until Spring 2014. You can do the whole 4 year’s if you would like to, but don’t have to

5. Write yourself a letter about how you are going to make it happen and what you will achieved by 2016, give it to someone you trust to post around Spring 2013 as a reminder of the time you have taken to do this

Combined with planning for the future, learn to live in the moment, be aware and appreciate how you feel. An article in the Sunday Times Inner Style Magazine by Albery Espinosa gives some great top tips from his book, The Yellow World. Here is my interpretation of them…

1. Make friends with people who make you feel good and happy when you leave a conversation with them, authentic, positive people

2. Ask & answer 5 questions each day that you want to know the answer about, increase your knowledge and contentment

3. Take 20 minutes ‘out’ everyday to be still and assess how you feel, reflect and journal

4. Accept the person you are and be positive with your internal language to yourself (please!)

5. Make decisions, even bad decisions will turn into good ones after time, everything happens for a reason so be present and don’t let the past limit your future

Do let me know how you get on with your 4 Year Master Plan, I promise that I am going to do it myself, practise what you teach! I am quite excited about doing it 🙂
