On Tuesday evening some Energised clients and Head Coach Kim experienced a Taster Session in Meditation from the wonderful Sam May. I personally feel that the quite time for reflection and for the body to be still is an important aspect of overall wellbeing, and gives a chance forone to rebalance, repair, find clarity and restore ‘good’ energy.

6-Week Meditation Course

Tuesday evenings, 8th March – 12th April | 8-9pm

at The Natural Health Clinic, 39 Cotham Hill, Bristol BS6 6JY (just off Whiteladies Road, above ‘Blue Juice’)

Ideal for beginners, this ’6-Week Meditation Course for Health & Wellbeing’ is specially designed to give you the tools, experience and confidence needed to establish your own meditation practice.

The classes are practical and accessible, and include guided meditation, discussion and time for questions. The following topics are covered:

  • How meditation works
  • Integration with daily life
  • Relaxation techniques
  • Breathing meditation
  • Developing mindfulness and concentration
  • Motivation and establishing a daily practice

Studies have shown an association between regular meditation and a reduced need for health care. Meditation has been found to help in the alleviation of symptoms which are not otherwise responding to standard medical treatment, including:

About the Teacher:

Sam May, a former Buddhist monk and founder of Lucent, a Bristol-based enterprise offering meditation instruction for the promotion of health and wellbeing, began meditating in 1993. He has gained extensive experience of practising and teaching meditation, for many years instructing and guiding both groups and individuals on a daily basis. Sam spent 11 years as a Buddhist monk after completing his BA degree in Philosophy, and has since been working in the healthcare sector, where in addition to teaching meditation he is an acupuncturist and a health consultant for complementary and alternative medicine.
