Later today many of the Sporting World will replace training kit for a black tie outfit and head to find out who the winner of the Sports Personality of the Year will be awarded to at Salford Quays. The Top 10 line up is strong & very well deserved, yet under a ‘wee’ bit of conflict as no female athletes were nominated. What do you think?
I think in a society where we want to encourage both girls and boys to get active it would be mindful to include some female role models, who have achieved great things this year in the line up. That said I am sure 2012 will be filled with females in the line up after the Olympics and many other big sporting event!
Udos Choice have put together a great alternative Sports Personality List of Females who derserve a mention this year. Do check it out, and place yout vote! Click here: http://www.udoschoice.co.uk/awards
With all that said its still a very exciting Top 10 – it stands like this: The shortlist (in alphabetical order) is: Mark Cavendish (cycling), Darren Clarke (golf), Alastair Cook (cricket), Luke Donald (golf), Mo Farah (athletics), Dai Greene (athletics), Amir Khan (boxing), Rory McIlroy (golf), Andy Murray (tennis), Andrew Strauss (cricket) – as taken from the BBC website.
