Nearly Time to Positively Stretch My Boundaries….. Ironman UK Time Done!!

THANK YOU all for your Support, it has been totally overwhelming and I am proud to say I completed the UK Ironman, undoubtedly helped by all your amazing, wonderful support (especially the Energised Crew who came up, Tim, Debbie, Fred, Ross, Mum, Rach and Lucy)! Thank YOU.  And a MASSIVE Thank you to everyone who has donated… we are £9 off £3,000, amazing.  Full Blog and story coming by Monday 30th July about the Ironman – 1 Long Day!  In the meantime, here is my Sportsister Review:

“10 years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do, than by the ones you did. So throw off the bow lines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. Celebrate.” H. Walters

I cannot believe I am about to do an Ironman, I can’t believe I actually even entered it, but I guess from the last few months training I did!   All I can say is the support, friendships, highs and learnings I have gained over the last 6 months have been amazing.  I have learned more than I could ever imagine, and I am sure will learn more this weekend….

I have just written my last Pre Race ‘Ironman Adventure Challenge Blog’ for Sportsister, they have been amazing supporting my Journey, to read the latest update, Trusting the Taper and my whole journey and tips, click here: and To donate and support, help me make an even BIGGER Difference and raise awareness please visit

So to everyone (and you all know who you are) who has been with me on this journey of training, THANK YOU so much…. And thank you to Sweaty Betty & Shock Absorber for all the kit they have given me, I am proud to be a National Ambassador for you both. I will race my very best possible on the day, practise what I teach and finish, I look forward to updating you all next week!  To my support Crew on the day, my boyfriend Ross, Mum Tess, brother Fred and amazing friends Rachael & Lucy, you being there will be amazing, THANK YOU.

In the meantime I am fine tuning my mental strength plans. There are so many people who inspire me, from my clients achieving their first 5km to Olympic athletes and Extreme challenge people I work with.  For your inspiration here is a list who have inspired me (I have tunes too but that makes this blog too long!).… Keri-Anne Payne, Jez Birds, Sam Hayward, Anya Tarsuik,….. Victoria Pendleton, Sophie Whitworth, Daz Parker, Camilla Dallerup, Scott Ramsay…..Michelle Dillon, Debbie Marsden, Holly Avil, Jessica Ennis,  Mark Hirsh, Chrissie Wellington….Rhona Borthwick, Simon Tubb, Tina HW, Dax Moy, Jim Mellon, Emma James, Kevin McLernon… I could go on 🙂 For those of you concerned about my modelling exercise (who know what that is!), it is refined but that would be telling as to who is on the refined list… !! And if comedian, John Bishop can do his Sport Relief Challenge I should just get on with this!

I just know I will start on Sunday with the thoughts of, ‘Expect the Unexpected, Eat More than You Want on the Bike, Pace Yourself and Enjoy it….. Plus I will remember the words from the Poem, IF…. If you can keep your head….

I am ready to go and do my very best, complete the race and share the experience.  I want to make a difference by raising as much money and awareness as I can for these charities and below is a summary of why.  I also want to inspire, motivate and encourage people to believe in themselves, to have the confidence to do something that they never thought was possible and to dare to get a little uncomfortable….

If I can do this, by completing the Ironman UK then I will be really proud and the motivation and support you have all given me will be worth it….. so Sunday 6am, I will begin my Ironman with number 319 on my back…. and sometime later, maybe around 8pm but I have no idea I will finish.  I look forward to updating you next week and sharing my adventure, thank YOU all. Kim x

PS. The VERY BIGGEST GOOD LUCK to Sam Hayward, Rachael Hunt, Andy Sloan and everyone else taking part this weekend and anywhere else you may be racing, enjoy. You will be brilliant x

Here is a quick summary of the 5 Charities….

–  SANDS, (Neo Natal Death) the motivation of my Ironman and in memory of my best friend Emily’s  little angel Ashley – my aim is to raise at least £2,706.11 for her birthday 27.06.11, we are nearly there, thank you. xxxxx

–  B-Eat (Eating Disorders and Body Confidence), inspiring people to really learn to love their bodies and compete in sport in a healthy, empowered, positive way, Holly Avil is an inspiration behind choosing this charity.

– Access Sport – So key and inline with  my work and aim to help people.  As Nelson Mandela would say, “”Sport has the power to change the world, the power to inspire, the power to unite people in a way that little else can… sport can create hope… it is an instrument for peace.”

– The Eve Appeal (Cervical & Other Cancers) – recommended by a good friend and client, many of my clients have suffered from this and my training was delayed in January due to several biopsy’s and more later.

– The Spafford Children’s Centre – Amazing charity set up by my family over 100 years ago in Jerusalem, working with all children in the West Bank. Inspiring, thought provoking and empowering.
